Microbiological
Analysis
From our Microbiological analysis area, we offer various analytical solutions that we apply to a wide range of samples.
MICROBIOLOGICAL FOOD ANALYSIS
Food microbiology studies how micro-organisms act and/or affect products for human or animal consumption. Food microbiology is a science that encompasses different aspects of ecology and biotechnology. Microorganisms are a fundamental part of the production of certain foods (cheese, yoghurt, fermented meat products, etc.) and at the same time, they are the cause of degradation and deterioration of these foods.
At Conycal Laboratory we have ENAC ISO 17025 accreditation for different microbiological parameters and in different matrices (food, water, etc.). We develop the appropriate procedures to detect, identify and/or enumerate different bacterial species that may be of interest to our clients, such as alicyclobacillus, which is a bacterium resistant to many of the usual heat treatments in the food industry.
We take great care over the entire process, from receipt of the sample to delivery of the result, offering the results in the shortest possible time.
Some of the main microbiological analyses we offer are:
- Accredited analysis of drinking water, of all the parameters included in RD 3/2023.
- Analysis of swimming pool water accredited according to RD 742/2013.
- Environmental Quality Control in air and work surfaces.
Analysis of irrigation water: E.Coli and total coliforms / - Analysis of Salmonella spp.
- Analysis of Legionella spp. in any type of water applying the provisions of RD 487/2022, with results for drinking water.
- Food Analysis
All our activities are certified in accordance with ISO 9001 (quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) standards.
The waste generated in the various analytical processes is treated in accordance with our certified Environmental Management System.
Our capacity for microbiological food analysis is in continuous development and we use classical microbiological techniques together with the most innovative techniques (PCR; Immunoassay, chromogenic media, etc.).
The expert microbiologists in our laboratories work in different food matrices and carry out the tests in accordance with the strictest existing regulations (FDA, USDA, AOAC, AFNOR, APHA, ISO, etc.).
We have our own team of Control and Sampling technicians trained in the best practices for sample collection, but if necessary we can also organise the collection and transfer to our laboratories of the samples collected by our clients.
Other areas in which we apply our expertise in microbiology include:
- Microbiological surface sampling
- Environmental microbiological sampling
- Microbiological sampling of handlers
